Karen entered my life when I was struggling with the trauma and emotional pain of divorce. The financial piece of this unexpected life change was daunting and scary. While the first and maybe most important step in my collaborative divorce was to prepare a budget reflecting living expenses, I had no idea where to begin and not motivation to do so. I wasn’t a “financial person” and had no idea how to think about, process, gather and record this information.
Karen sat at my kitchen table and comfortingly and patiently began the process of compiling the financial pieces of my life. She is the perfect blend of no-nonsense financial savvy and empathic and supportive friend. With incredible competence, patience and kindness, Karen skillfully walked me through this unpleasant process. With her help, I not only compiled an accurate budget that would serve as the basis of my financial picture going forward, but began to understand my finances and how to manage them for years to come. I simply could not have gone through this process without Karen. There were other wonderful professionals I relied on through my divorce, but nobody had my back quite like Karen.
